Neurosurgical visualisations
Anatomy of the brain
Illustration
For my graduation project of the Master Scientific Illustration I researched the different ways of visualising medical procedures, focussing on a variety of target groups such as scientist, surgeons, medical students and patients.

To me scientific illustration means translating complex matters into a comprehensible and attractive image focusing on a specific target group. This can be laymen but also medical specialists, researchers, or medical students.
The first challenge for me as a designer is to get to know my audience and how to address them. Then it is key to be compact and clear in communicating the indepth information and find the right balance between words and images.
